Studio Rentals Available 

Mudflat is now accepting applications for 2 studio rentals at Mudflat. Please read on below for information about each studio space. Please note that the Applications for the Associate Artist studio will be restricted to individuals who are currently enrolled students at Mudflat.

Resident Artist Space

Looking for one Resident Ceramic Artist, beginning January 1, 2024. 
Applications are due November 26, 2023.

About the space:

  • The Resident artist space is in Studio #1, a shared 186 square foot studio, in a private room with 1 other artist, on the 2nd floor off the high-fire glaze room. Rental includes 24-hour access, access to electric and gas kilns, and use of other studio and classroom equipment such as a slab roller, extruders and spray booth. Resident Artists are responsible for providing and maintaining their own shelving, tables and other equipment including pottery wheels. No kilns may be installed in studios. 

 

Rent: 

  • Monthly rent is $350.00.Rent does not include clay materials, glazes or firings, but clay, glazes and firings may be purchased through Mudflat and are additional fees. Resident artists are required to fire their own work; a training and authorization process for firing Mudflat kilns can be arranged with the Mudflat tech directors.

 

About:

  • Mudflat is a non-profit community clay studio and all studio artists are required to participate in Mudflat sponsored events and fundraising activities, including Mudflat’s Open Studio and Pottery Sale, held in May and December each year. All studio artists are eligible to exhibit and sell their work at Mudflat Gallery. Paid teaching opportunities are available.

Associate Artist Space

Looking for one Associate Ceramic Artist, beginning January 1, 2024. Applications are due November 26, 2023.

About the space:

  • The associate artist space is in Studio # 8, a shared studio in a 300 square foot room on the 2nd floor, with a total of 6 artists. Each individual area is approximately 50 sq feet. Rental includes 24-hour access, access to electric and gas kilns, and use of other studio and classroom equipment such as a slab roller, extruders and spray booth. Mudflat provides one shelving unit for each Associate Artist and there is 1 pottery wheel and 1 common table to be shared. No kilns may be installed in studios. Please note that the Applications for the Associate Artist studio will be restricted to individuals who are currently enrolled students at Mudflat.

 

Rent: 

  • Monthly rent is $257.00.. Rent does not include clay, glazes or firings, but clay, glazes and firings may be purchased through Mudflat and are additional fees. Associate artists are not required to fire their own work, but are eligible to enroll in a training and authorization process for firing Mudflat kilns.
